Personal Support Workers (PSWs)

Job Requirements

Education and Certification:

  • Possession of a valid PSW certification from a recognized educational institution.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Personal Support Worker or in a related role is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of personal care techniques, including bathing, grooming, and assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Familiarity with providing emotional support and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills to report any changes in patient condition or concerns to healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from healthcare professionals.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift, transfer, and support patients with mobility limitations.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that may require standing, bending, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

  • Availability and Flexibility:
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Availability to accommodate shift rotations and emergency situations.
